Past Experience and Qualifications

Chef Rocky Dunnam, CEC, WCEC, CDM graduated from Le Cordon Bleu. After interning, then working for Celebrity Chef Beau MacMillan at Sanctuary Resort and Spa in Arizona, Chef Rocky built his resume in respected kitchens across the Southwest (including a restaurant that he opened under his long-time mentor Chef Joseph Busone. His current position is as Executive Chef for the Bivins Foundations, Bivins Pointe, NINETEEN49 Catering, and his personal brand Rock’D Recipes. Chef Rocky is a Certified Executive Chef with American Culinary Federation, a Certified Dietary Manager/Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) with Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals as well as a World Certified Executive Chef with World Association of Chef Societies.

Awards and Appearances

Chef Rocky has won several awards recently including “Best Tasting”, and “Best Theme”; in March of Dimes Signature Chefs, and “Battle of the Area Chefs Champion”; at Restaurant Roundup. He has appeared on Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen, was recently named Foodservice Star on the Rise by Foodservice Director Magazine as well as being featured as Stars: Under 30, has published numerous articles with Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals EDGE Magazine, and teaches cooking classes each semester for Amarillo College at the Elizabeth Jane Bivins Culinary Center. Chef Rocky can be seen every Tuesday afternoon on KAMR News 4 Studio 4 (4:45pm), and every other Thursday morning on KAMR News 4 Today in Amarillo (6:00am).
